Mary Lou Simmons

Mary Lou Simmons, age 96, of Joelton, TN, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Mary was born on June 11, 1927, in Lascassas, TN to the late Henry Sauls and Hallie Burton Matthews Sauls. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, William Henry Matthews; second husband, Thomas R. Simmons; sons, William Matthews, Jr.; David Matthews, Keith Matthews, Mark Matthews; daughter, Patricia Matthews; brothers, Robert Henry Sauls, J. H. Sauls, Ernest Herbert Sauls, Wiliam Holt Sauls, James Hollis Sauls; sisters Nina Sauls Tarkington and grandsons, Robert Matthews and David Dean Matthews, Jr.,   She is survived by her sister, Carrie Nell Sauls Thompson; grandchildren, James Pardue, Robbi Pardue, Christy Hobbs, Keith Matthews, Jr., James Matthews, Angie Hunnel, Misty Matthews, Brandon Matthews, and many great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

No public funeral services are planned; Mary’s wishes were to be cremated and her cremains spread amongst her preceded family members.
