Martha V. Welfel

Martha V. Welfel age 89, of Ashland City, TN, passed away at her home on Saturday July 24, 2021.  She was born January 23, 1932 in Greenbrier, TN, the daughter of the late Birtie S. Peck and Virginia E. Wilson Peck.  Martha was a homemaker who cared for many children in her home over the years.  She had attended Whites Creek Church of Christ.  She was a fan of classic country music and was a member of the Ernest Tubb Fan Club.  She was known for writing many poems, many of which have been published.  She is survived by her daughter Joyce Elaine Sanders (Donald Wayne) of Ashland City and her son Charles Michael Welfel (Diane) of Goodletsville, TN.  Also surviving are grandchildren Tracy Ragan, Don W. Sanders, Jr., Jennifer Martin, and Christen Welfel.  Also surviving are  great grandchildren Rhett Sanders, and Brooke Martin.   Funeral services for Martha will be conducted on Wednesday July 28, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Boyd Funeral Home. Brother Harold Scott will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Bearwallow Church of Christ Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services on Wednesday.  Arrangements are under the care of Boyd Funeral Home 101 Elizabeth Street  Ashland City, TN  37015.  Phone 615-792-2359.
