Marion Eugene “Buddy” Gailey, Jr, 78 of Nashville, TN passed away on Wednesday October 24, 2018 at the Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. Buddy was born on February 23, 1940 in Altoona, PA to the late Marion, Sr. and Julia Naomi (Imler) Gailey. Buddy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was also a friend, teacher, mentor and provider. He was always willing to serve others as a Deacon of the church and serving four years in the United States Air Force. Buddy worked at WSMV, channel 4 for fifteen years as a video tape engineer and retired from Nissan North America after twenty years as an audio visual engineer in corporate communications. Although he was sometimes a bit shy, Buddy had many lifelong friends all around the world. He is preceded in death by his father Marion Eugene Gailey, Sr., his mother Julia Gailey and sister Kay Gailey Yates. Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Wanda, five sons; Scott (Katrina) Gailey of Greenville, TN, Robert (Christy) Gailey of Charleston, SC, John (Jaime) Gailey of Bethpage, TN, Mark (Holly) Gailey of Kingston Springs, TN, and Bill (Jennifer) Gailey of Mt. Juliet, TN, eight granddaughters, four grandsons, one niece Carol Hart (Ray) Johnson, one great niece and one great nephew.
Visitation for Buddy Gailey, Jr. will be on Saturday October 27, 2018 at the Cofers Chapel, 3915 Franklin Pk., Nashville, TN. 37204 from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:30 pm. Burial, with Military Honors, will be at the Middle TN Veterans Cemetery in Pegram, TN on Monday October 29, 2018, where those attending are asked to meet there, by 1:00 pm.
