Joyce Diane Owens

Joyce Diane Owens Age 76 of Ashland City passed away on February 1, 2022 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. Ms. Owens was a resident of Ashland City for 17 years and prior to that was a resident of La Vergne for 20 years. She was born on January 12, 1946 in Pennsylvania to Mr. Howard Henderson and his wife Mrs. Doris Henderson. Joyce was employed as a Corporate Medicare Trainer and worked with and for various companies through out her professional life. She attended Harding University where she majored in English. Joyce was married to the love of her life, Mr. Melvin Earl Owens and together they raised a family and created a life to be proud of. Ms. Owens was a member of the Bearwallow Road Church of Christ. In her free time Joyce enjoyed volunteering with a church group hand making clothing for children in need overseas. She is preceded in death by her parents Howard and Doris Henderson, one brother Jerry Henderson and her husband Melvin Earl Owens. Remaining to cherish her memory are daughters Karen Hales(John) of Florida, Deborah Owens of Ashland City and Melissa Malvik of Joelton and one sister Becky Fisk of Ashland City. In addition Mrs. Owens is survived by 7 grandchildren. Mrs. Owens cherished the bible verse in Isaiah 43:2 that reads "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee." Services will be conducted on Saturday February 12, 2022 at the Bearwallow Road Church of Christ beginning at 2:00p.m. The family will receive visitors at the church from 12:30p.m. until time of service. Services are under the direction of Boyd Funeral Home in Ashland City.
