John Edward Roney, Jr.

John Edward Roney Jr, of Clarksville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, May 9th, 2023, at the age of 39. Johnny was born in Houston, TX on January 22, 1984, to Father, John Roney, Sr. and Mother, Roxanne Campbell Roney. He grew up in Pleasant View, TN and attended Sycamore High School. Johnny was an avid basketball player beginning in Elementary school and playing through High School.

Johnny married Nicole Qualls in 2010 and raised their two children Trey and Lucy in Pleasant View, later moving to Clarksville where they purchased their first family home. He was a member of the Local 572 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union and made a career as a Pipefitter/Welder. Johnny and his family also attended 24 Church in Pleasant View.

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents and maternal grandmother Norma Nave. He is survived by his wife Nicole Roney; children Trey & Lucy Roney; sister Beth (Eric) Tweedale and nieces Trinity & Adilyn Tweedale.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 12:00 PM at the chapel of Boyd Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Royalty officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Saturday, May 13, 2023, from 11:00 AM until the hour of service. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to John’s funeral expenses at Boyd Funeral Home.
