George “Hadley” Williams, Jr., (Paw Paw) took his peaceful rest on March 21, 2025.
He was born May 16th, 1933, to the late George “Hadley” Sr. and Lizzie Williams of Ashland City, TN. Growing up, he received his education in the small town of Springfield, TN. When he turned 20 years of age, Hadley joined the military and served for 32 years with an honorable discharge as a decorated veteran.
Hadley joined the Second Missionary Baptist Church in his early years, where he served faithfully as a deacon. He later joined First Baptist Church, until his health began to decrease.
He witnessed and contributed to the growth of Ashland City, leaving a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of knowing him. He had several hobbies that he loved in life, such as, making license plates, landscaping, fishing, watching wrestling and wheel of fortune…and oh yes, can’t forget about cooking his famous hot water cornbread and turnip greens.
His stories, experiences, and presence were treasured by all who listened. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
