Gertie Pauline Street, age 86 of Ashland city, TN, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
Gertie was born on November 16, 1937, in Nashville, Tennessee to the late L. Thomas Meadows and Finey Davis. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Street; daughter, Geneva Puckett; grandson, Chris Puckett; siblings, Christine, Charlie, William, Tommy, Harold Lee, J.W, Phillip, Fay and Eddie. She is survived by her siblings, Connie Mac and Bruce; children, Stanley McNeese, Janice Eagleson and Diane (Scott) Cudworth; grandchildren, Salena (Shane) Melhorn, Robin (Jaime) McNeese, Stephanie (Jason) Proctor- Myers, Alicia (Jake) Berry, Tabitha (Steve) Fudge, Erica (Jeff) Hargrove, Tim (Tasha) McNeese, Corey (Nikki) Frazier. 25 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Gertie Described as "dynamite in a small package", she was a loving Mother, Sister, Daughter, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend. She had a love for chickens, John Wayne and Elvis Presley. She enjoyed watching soap operas and western shows and being around her family; her home was open to all.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Boyd Funeral Home at 2:00 PM, with Shaun Sutton officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Gertie will be laid to rest with her husband Malcolm, at Ever Rest of Cheatham Cemetery, in Pleasant View, TN.
Pallbearers are Corey Frazier, Jay Hires, Austin McNeese, Jake Lingner, Peyton McNeese, Nicolas Hargrove.
