David Dean Matthews

David Dean Matthews, Sr, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at TriStar Northcrest Medical Center in Springfield, TN.

David was born on May 14, 1955, in Nashville, TN to the late William Henry Matthews and Mary Lou Sauls Matthews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Matthews, Jr., brothers, Keith Matthews, Mark Matthews and sister, Patricia Johnson. He is survived by his son, Brandon (Susan) Matthews; daughters, Angie (Randy) Hunnell, Mary “Misty” Matthews; grandchildren, Haley, Mandy, Mya, Ian, True, Taye, Airianna, Willa, Isiah (Lexi), Sydney, Alyza, Abby, Tori, Libby, Emma, Maddie, Heather, Tristan and 17 great grandchildren. 

David was quiet, loving and a simple man. He loved helping others and always placed their needs before his own. He loved fishing, gardening, and cars. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be dearly missed.
