Amanda Marie Letzkus

October 21, 1985 — October 17, 2024

Ashland City, TN

Amanda “Mandi” Marie Letzkus, age 38, of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born in Upland, California, on October 21, 1985 to Cinda Marie Witt and Daniel Paul Witt. She worked as a Veterinary Technician at Livewell Animal Urgent Care in East Nashville. Mandi is survived by her parents Daniel and Cinda Witt; her husband Jimmy Letzkus; children Phoenix Letzkus and Isabella “Bella” Letzkus; Aunt Kate Steele; cousin Dustin Steele. Mandi loved to do everything with her kids and her animals as they were all family in her eyes as they held special places in her heart. She was extremely smart and loved talking with people about animals to either help them or to answer questions since they knew she helped either rescue or save them while at work and home. She was very driven with her education towards her goal of helping and doing the best at saving animals. After graduating from Austin Peay State University, she interned at Radnor Lake State Park in which she found her passion for rescuing animals of all kinds. She worked on her Veterinary schooling to earn her license to be certified by the state as a technician. She has worked or volunteered at several facilities such as Radnor Lake, Walden’s Puddle, Nashville Veterinary Services, and Livewell Animal Urgent Care. She was very proud when she earned her title as a Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician (LVMT). She loved animals so much that she would get calls for a rescue throughout the night to rescue an Owl, falcon, and even a Bald Eagle in which she happily transported to East Tennessee for a new life after healing. Plenty would have surprises in the bedroom or bathroom with injured Owls, Possums, Turtles, and even a snakes and not say anything until her husband would walk in and make her laugh due to the surprise guests and his reactions. Her love for animals was well known, but only came second to her love of her children. She always wanted them to succeed in everything that they did as she encouraged them to be happy and work hard on whatever they were doing such as pageants, competition cheer, or school cheer for Bella. Phoenix has played football for 10 years in which she was always cheering him on at all levels of his sport. She would have her custom outfits for any event in which she made by hand over many hours was another aspect she enjoyed doing whether it was making the outfits or decorative apparel to show support for her children and their events that she would be cheering them on. She would hang out with her mom and grab some coffee while talking about work or her children. Always trying to be the best Mom she could be for her children and making sure they knew she would do whatever she needed to do for their well-being. She would ask advice from her parents if she wasn’t positive about anything and would make sure they knew what was going on in their lives and get their support at their events. She would always push for her husband to enjoy everything as much as possible even with his crazy schedule. She was very loved by everyone that knew her. She may not be here with us physically anymore but she will always be with us in spirit and she will NEVER be forgotten.
