Neill, Helen Plunkett Age 88 of Nashville. December 18, 2011. She is preceded in death by her husband, Garland Neill and survived by daughter, Deborah Neill; brothers Joel and Lear Plunkett; honorary daughter and niece, Carol Plunkett Smith; honorary daughter, Faye Boatman; three honorary grandchildren; seven honorary great-grandchildren; niece, Cindy Plunkett Chapman; nephew, Joel Lee Plunkett; niece, Jill Plunkett; and niece, Julie Plunkett Curry. Helen was born on October 14, 1923 and was raised in Kingston Springs, TN as the oldest of three children to John and Ella Plunkett. She was a faithful and cherished wife and mother for 62 years. Beyond that, she nurtured, guided, and comforted three generations of neighborhood children and adults and was, in many ways, central to their growth, well-being and success. Helen was a champion talker (knowing no strangers) and an Olympic clothing shopper (would have held the gold metal if we had one). She was a kind, loving, and generous woman who will be greatly missed, but held warmly in memory, by those who were lucky enough be near her. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Boyd Funeral Home in Ashland City, TN. Interment will occur at 10:00 a.m. at Middle TN State Veterans Cemetery. The family entrusted Boyd Funeral Home with the arrangements.
