Corbit Sloan Simpkins

Corbit Simpkins, age 64, died on Saturday August 25, 2012 at the Centennial Medical Center in Ashland City, TN. He was born to parents Lurton and Lorene Simpkins on November 12, 1947 in Cheatham Co. He worked at a saw mill and was a logger for most of his years in the Cheatham Co. area. He is preceded was death by his parents, brother- Odell Simpkins, sisters- Agnes Cardwell and Margaret Simpkins, and mother of his children- Barbara Sue (Shores) Cole. Corbit Simpkins is survived by his girl friend- Deborah Taylor of Chapmansboro, son-Tony Simpkins (Judy) of Chapmansboro, and daughter-Tammy Holder of Clarksville, Tn. He had five sisters- Minnie Pentecost of Adams, TN, Jessie Marshall of Clarksville, TN, Mary Elizabeth Ganius of Cedar Hills, TN, Carrie Glover of Cedar Hill, TN, and Rosie Ann Heft of Clarksville, TN. Corbit was the proud grandfather to six grandchildren, Michael, Breanna, and Chris Holder, and Danielle, Alisha, and Brittaney Simpkins. Visitations for Corbit Simpkins will be from the Boyd Funeral Home, 101 Elizabeth St, Ashland City on Tuesday August 28th from 2-8pm, and again on Wed the 29th from 10am - 2pm. The funeral service for Corbit Sloan Simpkins will be from the Chapel of the Boyd Funeral Home on Wednesday August 29, 2012 at 2:00pm with Bro. Jeffrey Binkley officiating. Burial will follow at the Hampton Cemetery on Mosley Ferry Rd. in Chapmansboro, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in honor of Corbit Simpkins to the Boyd Funeral Home to help on funeral expenses.
