Shelby Jean Balthrop

Shelby Jean Balthrop age 74, passed away at home on May 17, 2013. Shelby was born in Thomasville, Tn on December 21, 1938 to parents William Rufus and Buna Mae (Johnson) Pentecost. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ura Odell Balthrop, three brothers Kenneth, J.L., and Jerry Pentecost, and grandson Danny Balthrop. Shelby is survived by her sons Mike (Sondra) Balthrop of Ashland City, and Robert (Donna) Balthrop of Chapmansboro, Tn, daughters Jennifer Sue (Burton) Anderson of Ashland City, and Debbie (Bobby) Hatfield of Nashville, Tn. She also had two sisters Regina Trentham of Springfield, Tn and Elaine Binkley of Pleasant View, Tn. Shelby had fifteen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. Visitation for Shelby Balthrop will be at the Boyd Funeral Home in Ashland City, Tn on Saturday May 18 from 12-8pm, on Sunday from 10am-6pm, and on Monday from 9am-3pm. The Funeral Service for Shelby Jean Balthrop will be in the Chapel of the Boyd Funeral Home on Monday May 20, 2013 at 3:00pm with Bro. Kelly LeBlanc and Robert Hand officiating. Burial will follow at the Mallory Cemetery in Thomasville, Tn. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in honor of Shelby to the Mallory Cemetery Fund.
