Richard 'Scrap Iron' Thompson -66

Richard Arthur (Scrap Iron) Thompson, 66 of Ashland City passed away on Saturday July 16, 2016 at the Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was born on November 27, 1949 to Parents Wallace and Lorene (Harper) Thompson in Springfield, TN. Scrap Iron' was preceded in death by his parents and his son James Chris Matthews. He is survived by his ex-wife Pam Matthews Thompson, daughter Tammy Garner, brothers Joe, Bill (Betty), John and Paul Thompson, sisters Mary Forsythe, Ruth (GC) Jenkins, Linda Colley, Joyce Sanders and Nancy (David) Tubb, grandchildren Darick and Aaron Garner and great grandchildren Skyler, Journey and Aarion Garner. The family has requested donations in remembrance of Scrap Iron' to go towards funeral expenses. The one day visitation for Richard Thomas was at the Boyd Funeral Home on Tuesday July 19, 2016 from 2:00pm till the time of service at 4:00pm. Burial followed at the Webb Cemetery in Joelton, TN.
