James Kenneth Dowlen, 85 of Ashland City, passed away on Tuesday September 6, 2016 at his home. He was born on September 17, 1930 to parents Theodore and Hazel (Felts) Dowlen in Pleasant View , TN. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Dot' Dowlen, daughters Janice (Steven) Hulen, and Caroline (Darrell) Shelton, sister Eddie (Jimmy) Whitworth, grandchildren Tyler Hulen, Jackson Shelton and Sydney Shelton, and great grandson Reed Hulen. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ervin, Ray, Carl and Dorris Dowlen, sister Francis Dowlen and grandchild Travis Huler. Kenneth honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Bell South after 39 years. Visitation for Kenneth Dowlen will be at the Boyd Funeral Home on Thursday September 8th from 4:00 - 7:00pm and on Friday from 11:00am till time of Service at 1:00pm. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Goodsprings Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the St. Judes Children Hospital.
