Vera Halpin -99

Vera Halpin, of Ashland City, 99 years young, passed away on March 28, 2017 at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Ashland City. She was born April 12, 1917 in Nashville, TN, just missing her 100th birthday by only fifteen days. Her parents were the late Lonnie and Catherine Scott. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband James Halpin, sons Jimmy and Billy Joe Halpin, daughters Beverly Travis and Judy Gann, brothers Robert and JR Hulan, sister Louise Zornes and grandson Lonnie Ray Halpin, Jr. She was survived by sons Lonnie R. Halpin, Sr. (Teresa), Jerry Halpin (Sharon), daughters Joyce Gillahan, Dorothy Knight (Billy), Geanne Johnson, sisters Mary Freeman, Robbie Jenkins, eleven grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. Visitation for Vera Halpin will be at the Boyd Funeral Home, 101 Elizabeth St. Ashland City, TN 37015 on Thursday March 30th from 11:00am till time of service at 1:00pm with Bro. Chris Moore officiating. Burial will on Friday March 31st at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville at 3:00pm. Those attending will meet at the Woodlawn Cemetery on Friday at 3pm.
