Mary Ann Watson 85 of Ashland City passed away on Monday September 25, 2017 at the Waters of Cheatham Nursing Home. Mary Ann is preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul Grant Watson, father Charles Jefferson and Mother Alice Mae Pentecost, number one son-in-law Mike Gibbs, Brother-in-law’s Wade Mangrum, George Watson Lawrence Hunley, Sisters-in-law’s Martha Sue Watson Hunley and Mary Lovell. She is survived by her daughters Karen (Thomas) Stone, Rene’ (Mike) Gibbs and Paula (Tim) Henderson, Grandchildren Alison Kizer and Andrea Stone: Grant, Landon and Peyton Gibbs: Bethany Jackson and James Paul Henderson, Great Grandchildren, Olivia Gibbs, Jack and Caroline Gibbs and Leo Stone A’lvaro, Sister Charlotte Scheffer, Sister-in-laws Nancy Mangrum and Ceclia Watson and many nieces and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers: Joe, Jeff and Jamie Scheffer, Kami Waters and Kathy Gupton and the Staff of the Waters of Cheatham. Mary Ann was a woman of GOD who enjoyed church, singing in the choir and taking voice lessons. She and Paul were married for 46 years with three loving daughters, seven precious grandchildren and four adorable great grandchildren with her fifth to arrive in March. She was very instrumental in her community in Ashland City with working in the school system, serving as the first crossing guard and being the first woman to be deputized in Ashland City by the late Sheriff Doris Weakley. She also brought girls’ softball to Ashland City with the help of W.B. Lockert. She later in life worked at St. Thomas West Hospital for over 20 years in the Emergency Room. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother , great grandmother and sister and will be truly missed. Her visitation will be held at Boyd Funeral Home, 101 Elizabeth St. Ashland City, TN. 37015 on Thursday September 28, 2017 form 4 - 8pm and Friday from 10, until time of service at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at the Ever Rest of Cheatham Memorial Garden, in Pleasant View, Tn. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Mike Gibbs Foundation at the Community Foundation at of Middle Tennessee.
